The best way to get from Labuan Bajo (Bali) to Flores is to fly which takes 2h and costs $160 – $550. Alternatively, you can take a ferry from Labuan Bajo to Larantuka which takes 14h.

How long is the ferry from Bali to Komodo Island?

From Bali to Komodo Island, it is possible to take a plane and then a ferry. The ferry journey from Labuan Bajo ferry terminal to Komodo National Park takes 2h 30min. There is only one ferry per day.

If you don’t have as much time, I recommend spending at least 1 week exploring Flores, but 10 days is ideal! You can either start your overland Flores itinerary from the west side of the island (Labuan Bajo) and make your way to the east (Ende or Maumere) or do it in the opposite direction.

How long do you need in Flores Indonesia

If you want to explore Flores thoroughly, we recommend a road trip that lasts at least 4 days. Since Flores has a lot of mountainous terrain, travel will take longer than you might expect. You should also plan to spend a couple of extra days boating around the small islands of Komodo National Park.
